Course
Course Overview
This one day program offers a fast, accessible and highly practical introduction to modern Generative AI. Participants learn how today’s large multimodal models work, why they hallucinate, how to structure prompts for consistent outputs and how to use grounding/RAG to improve reliability. The course also covers multimodal capabilities, agentic workflows emerging in 2026 and core concepts leaders need to evaluate value, safety and ROI. Learners leave with a pilot ready use case scorecard, reliability techniques and practical templates they can apply immediately.
What Will You Learn?
In this course, you will discover how AI can add a lot of value to your organisation. You will learn to :
● Understand how LLMs and multimodal models work in simple non‑technical terms.
● Write structured prompts that produce consistent, reliable and formatted outputs.
● Reduce hallucinations using grounding, RAG concepts and verification passes.
● Use multimodal features for image, document, audio and video tasks.
● Prioritize opportunities with a lightweight ROI/use‑case scorecard.
● Apply safety, governance and privacy practices aligned with emerging regulations
Who This Course Is For
This course is ideal for leaders, managers, PMs, analysts and knowledge workers who must evaluate AI use cases, improve productivity with GenAI, generate structured outputs and understand the rapidly evolving AI landscape all without needing to code or have a technical background.
Course Outline
Module 1 : GenAI in 2026 - What It Is, What It Isn’t
● Plain english mechanics : tokens, context windows, long context tradeoffs and why models hallucinate.
● The shift to agents : from chatbots to agentic workflows that plan and act under human oversight. Business impact snapshots for 2026.
Module 2 : Prompting that Works
● Define the goal, the desired output format, the limits and the data or context required. Then set the evaluation criteria and outline the next steps.
● Exercises : Draft a client email with tone, length and acceptance criteria
Turn messy notes into an exec brief and action list with due dates and owners.
Build a comparison table of vendors or policies with column definitions and JSON export.
Anti patterns to avoid : vague goals, context dumping and format drift.
Module 3 : Grounded Answers (RAG) & Reliability
● RAG in practice : when to ground answers, hybrid retrieval, chunking and reranking.
● Evaluation : faithfulness, context adherence, completeness and LLM as judge options.
● Mini‑lab : provide a policy or FAQ excerpt that requires citations from the snippet and refuses outside‑scope answers.
Module 4 : Multimodal in Minutes
● Use cases such as document understanding, screenshot triage, image to alt text and quick campaign visuals.
● Quick lab : turn a textual brief into a brand safe caption plus alt text and extract a table from a scanned image.
Module 5 : Safety, Governance & Quick Wins
● Governance by design : privacy hygiene, prompt injection defenses, human in the loop, audit trails and the EU AI Act 2025 - 2026 milestones.
● Vendor due diligence : data retention, exportability, lock in risk and agent safety considerations.
● ROI scorecard : quantify value, risk, effort, data readiness and what McKinsey and Gartner have to say about pilots to scale.
